The internal CRI-S3 reader has been awarded

From the test of USB 3.0 readers in PCTuning.cz: "The convincing winner among the internal memory card readers was the Axago CRI-S3, which is inexpensive and as the only tested model fully supports the USB 3.0 interface also for card reading."

The AXAGO CRI-S3 reader as the only one in the competition of USB 3.0 internal readers

  • Akasa AK-ICR-07U3
  • Icy Box IB-864-B
  • NZXT Aperture M

fully uses the USB 3.0 interface not only to connect an external USB 3.0 port to the reader’s panel, but also thanks to the USB 3.0 chip, the reader can use the potential of fast memory cards.

We cite literally from the test:
"Especially for internal readers it is worth checking the communication interface that the reader actually uses. Although in all four tested models the manufacturer indicates the USB 3.0 support, in practice it turned out that in three of them, the USB 3.0 interface was used only by an additional USB connector, while the reader itself was connected to USB 2.0. Only one internal reader has fully used the USB 3.0. It was the Axago CRI-S3 model designed for a 3.5" position, which you can buy for a reasonable CZK 350.00 including VAT and supports all commonly supported card types. It stands as a clear candidate to buy among the internal readers, and it will receive the award in the test."
